Chris Lightfoot PGA Professional

Chris has been the head Professional here at the Kent & Surrey since 2010 and has over 30 years experience in the field. He has a huge involvement with the clubs development and assists with Greenkeeping issues. He teaches using the iPad Ubersense coaching system and specialises in Ping custom fittings from the Pro-Shop which he runs on a daily basis.

Chris started his career at Burhill Golf Club as Assistant Professional back in 1982. He passed the PGA exam with distinction in 1987 to become a fully qualified golf Professional. He was elected as a member of the PGA by its Captain and was seconded by the South Region Secretary in 1987.

He has since worked at Hoebridge Golf Centre and Barrelfield Golf Network constructing golf courses and managing sales of new memberships to the newly developed clubs, including: North Weald, Clandon Regis, Mid Sussex, Reigate Hill and Kings Hill, where he later became Head Professional.

Later, Chris worked at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Centre as the Director of Golf and Head Teaching Professional, where he achieved the Diploma of Management and Business, passing with distinction. Then moving on to West Malling Golf Club, he became a certificated custom fitter for Ping, Titleist, Yonex, Taylor Made and Callaway. He also passed his Certificate in the use of Flightscape and Trackman. He is also qualified to teach using the G.A.S.P system, a system used on the Sky Golf Network.

Among Chris’ many accolades, he also passed the PGA Advanced Diploma, a greenkeeping course involving David Rhodes, agronomist.  He has also been arranging worldwide golfing holidays and tours for over 25 years.
